For many, Durant’s confession was seen as a rare peek behind the  curtain of professional sports, where the pressure to perform at the  highest level can often take a toll on mental and emotional well-being.

However, not everybody was sympathetic to Durant’s plight. In  the world of sports, where toughness and resilience are respected  traits, some fans viewed Durant’s admission as a sign of weakness.

While the NBA has made strides in promoting mental health  awareness and destigmatizing issues like anxiety and depression, there  remains a lingering stigma around vulnerability, especially among male  athletes.

Durant’s willingness to speak openly about his struggles should be appreciated, not ridiculed.
